A former Liverpool player Dietmar Hamann has fingered Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United as the cause of their poor form, Marca reports.
Fans across the world have been reacting to the return of the Portuguese to Old Trafford and Hamann even claimed that some players are scared of the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Having been one of the greatest players at the Premier League club following his achievements during his first stint, Ronaldo returned to join the Red Devils last year.
The Red Devils have not been so impressive since CR7’s return to Old Trafford as they have suffered defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City, both at home this season.
Hamann told Metro:
"There's question marks over Ronaldo and whether people are actually scared of him. I don't think there's an identity to this United team, which makes it difficult for a player to come into.
"This makes it difficult for a player to come into, someone needs to make sure these players pull in the same direction which isn't the case right now."
Ronaldo’s goal drought continues
Meanwhile, for the first time in about twelve years, Portuguese sensation Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to score in five consecutive club games and there are concerns.
The Manchester United striker who clocked 37 on February 5 came off the bench against Burnley, but could not find the back of the net as it ended 1-1.
Cristiano Ronaldo started the game on the bench, with Rangnick starting Edinson Cavani, who was back in the side following an extended break.
