Sadio Mane now looks set to quit Liverpool after reports emerged the Senegal international has instructed his agents to make a deal if either of Real Madrid or Barcelona asks for his services.
The 29-year old who recently won the AFCON with his native Senegal has experienced a great level of success with the Reds since joining from fellow Premier League club Southampton in 2016.
According to a report via 90mins, Mane wants to make more of a case that he is the best African footballer in history, and believes a move to Spain would help his course to achieving that goal.
The Senegal international has had a fairly successful career at Anfield and has gone on to become a Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup champion with the Reds.
Mane and Liverpool at standstill over contract renewal
Meanwhile, Sadio Mane is still to sort out his future as a Reds player as the 29-year-old considers his future away from the Anfield club.
According to a report via Goal, at the moment, there have been no serious contacts between Sadio Mane and his representatives with Liverpool for the contract renewal.
Mane’s current contract expires in 2023 and the former Southampton striker’s place in the Reds have also been under threat with the January signing of Luiz Diaz from FC Porto.
