Ghanaian goalkeeper Julius Naanio had a day to forget as he scored possibly one of the worst own goals of all-time on Sunday.

Naamio's team, Berekum Arsenal, were playing against Bolga All-Stars in the Ghana Division One League - a game that ended 2-2.

With the home side leading 2-1 in the second half, All-Stars were given a huge helping hand following a calamity from goalkeeper Naanio.

An Arsenal defender who was under pressure played his keeper a routine back-pass from just outside his own penalty area but the goalkeeper made a mess after he received the ball.

Naanio spotted his teammate and wanted to give him a pass but he embarrassingly converted the ball into his own net

The goalkeeper was horrified and immediately bowed his head while his hands dropped to his knees.

Elsewhere, A resilient performance from Elmina Sharks on Monday afternoon saw the side cruising past Asante Kotoko with a vital 2-1 victory.

The team from Elmina since the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season has struggled to compete.

As a result, the club is one of the three teams at the bottom of the league table fighting to avoid relegation at the end of the campaign.
