Al Ahly beat Monterrey 1-0 thanks to a Mohammed Hany goal in the 53rd minute, FIFA confirmed on their website.

Al Ahly and Palmeiras contested the third/fourth playoff in the last Club World Cup tournament, with the Egyptians winning on penalties.

Al Ahly will also have their Egyptian internationals back for the tournament but Mosimane is unlikely to use them after their gruelling AFCON final.

A win for Al Ahly will book them a place in the final where they could face Chelsea.

The past eight editions of the tournament have been won by the team representing Europe.

Chelsea will take on Al Hilal in the second semi-final which will be played on Wednesday, 9 February, SuperSport confirmed.

Al Hilal booked their place in the semi-finals by beating Al Jazira 6-1. South Africa’s Thulani Serero stated before the tournament that he would have liked to see his Al Jazira side face Mosimane’s Al Ahly in the final, but they were comprehensively beaten.

Al Jazira did score first but could not hold onto their lead.

The final of the FIFA Club World Cup will take place on 12 February.

Pitso Mosimane is with his Al Ahly team, who are competing in the FIFA Club World Cup. Al Ahly beat Monterrey in their first game 1-0 and will play in the semi-finals against Brazil's Palmeiras, Times LIVE reported.

Palmeiras were given an automatic place in the semi-finals while Al Ahly had to earn their way into the final four. Al Ahly were without numerous players for their first game, due to the AFCON tournament going on at the same time and Pitso was not shy to speak out about the issue.
