President of Senegal, Macky Sall, had his hands over his head after Liverpool star Sadio Mane missed the opportunity to give the Teranga Lions the lead in the AFCON final following his sixth minute penalty miss.
However, he went from villain to hero after seizing the moment to score the winner in the shootouts against Egypt for Senegal to be crowned champions.
In a video on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, president Macky Sall's reaction looked like he was going to give up.
After a pulsating 120 minutes of football, the game had to be decided on penalties, and this time, Sadio Mane and Senegal were successful.
It was the West African country's first Africa Cup of Nations triumph after coming close twice, in 2002 and in 2019.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal's penalty winning hero, Sadio Mane, has been crowned the best player at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations after leading the Teranga Lions to their first ever AFCON glory.
The Liverpool star was joined on the podium by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who was awarded the golden glove, with Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar scooping the golden boot.
Mane starred at the tournament for Senegal, scoring three goals and providing two assists as they won the trophy for the first time in their history.
