Cristiano Ronaldo turned 37 on Saturday, February 5, but the club he left as a boy CD Nacional still celebrates him till this very moment, Sky Sports reports.
Ronaldo started his professional career with CD Nacional
Located in Funchal on the Madeira Island, CD Nacional was where it all started for Cristiano Ronaldo as against popular belief that CR7's rise started in Sporting CP.
Ronaldo had begun his professional debut at Nacional before moving to Sporting CP in 1997 where he excelled and took his first step towards greatness by joining Man United.
But several years after his exit from the club, CD Nacional have continued to celebrate him.
The training ground walls of the club carry Ronaldo quotes. "This is where it all started in my career," reads one.
Another one read, "It gives me pleasure and pride that my name is associated with the academy of CD Nacional."
According to a report on Sky Sports, the club's complex has been named after him.
Just last year, Cristiano Ronaldo was named a lifetime member of his childhood club.
CR7's museum is also located in Funchal, Madeira, as well as his hotel and an airport named after him.
