Michael Olunga appears to have set his sights on winning the Golden Boot in the Qatar Stars League following his latest heroics.
The Kenyan international was twice on target on Sunday, February 5, as Al Duhail destroyed Al Rayyan 4-0 at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Olunga scored a goal on either half of the fixture to inspire Luis Castro's men to a comfortable win.
South Korean Nam Tae-hee netted Al Duhail's opener in the 21st minute, with Olunga doubling the advantage four minutes before the break.
Tae Hee broke the deadlock as he completed a cross from the left with a powerful header before the Kenyan star beating Al Rayyan shotstopper from close range with his left foot.
Olunga made it 3-0 eight minutes after the interval with another fine finish, with Mohammad Musa taking the game beyond the hosts in the 77th minute.
Olunga's tops goalscorers charts
Meanwhile, Olunga's brace against Al Rayyan took his tally to 19 goals to top the 2021/22 goalscorers charts.
Al Sadd's Andre Ayew sit second on the log with 12 after he scored a brace in his own side's 5-1 win over Al-Gharafa.
Fellow teammate Akram Afif is third with 11, on level with Ayman Hussain and Baghdad Bounedjah.
Olunga's reaction after brace
Reacting to his impressive performance against Al Rayyan, Olunga took to social media to hail "team effort" for the stunning victory.
"Great team effort. +3 points +2 goals," he tweeted.
