Former Arsenal and Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong, has waded in on the debate over who becomes the next Black Stars manager with six weeks left to play Nigeria in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Ghana Football Association and government have been caught at the crossroads with both having a different choice for the role.
In an interview with GTV Sports Plus, Frimpong blamed the Football Association for the coaching mess, insisting they've twice failed to get the right man, allowing government to have an interest in the next coach.
"The Ghana Football Association got themselves into this mess, they are the reason why the Government is deciding as to who to become the Black Stars Coach, they were given the chance and on two occasions they failed the nation,” Frimpong said.
The government led by the Sports Ministry are reported to be interested in making former Brighton manager Chris Hughton the coach of the Black Stars.
Meanwhile, the federation traveled to Germany to speak with former player and now Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo for the job.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to name a new coach before March's World Cup qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
