FootballHeartbreak for Kidderminster Harriers: Fans React to West Ham United’s Last Second Win in the FA Cup
- Kidderminster Harriers were knocked out of the FA Cup as they conceded in the dying seconds of the game
- West Ham had Declan Rice and Jared Bowen to thank for their FA Cup win, as both players scored late goals
- Fans took to social media to praise Kidderminster Harriers for their performance against West Ham United
Kidderminster Harriers were cruelly denied a famous win against West Ham United in the FA Cup earlier today.
Kidderminster Harriers are 113 places behind West Ham in the football league structure.
It was heartbreak twice for Kidderminster who led from the 19th till the 91st minute thanks to Alex Penny, The Guardian reported.
West Ham scored in the 91st minute thanks to Declan Rice, with two minutes left to play, to take the matter to extra time. With penalties looming and Kidderminster still in with a chance of pulling off an upset, Jared Bowen broke their hearts once again in the final seconds of extra time to secure a 2-1 win over the sixth-tier side, The Mirror reported.
Football fans praised the performance of the non-league side on social media while West Ham fans reacted negatively to their team’s terrible showing.
@AtTheBridgePod:
"I was watching the Kidderminster Harriers vs West Ham game and my takeaway was that Yarmolenko is on 150K per week and was getting outclassed by a 6th tier side."
@Kafkaesque_10:
"Kidderminster vs West ham is the magic of the FA cup"
@01HGUOROBLA:
"These games happen at the end of the day, there’s a reason we’re always on tele during the cup. Complete embarrassing performance and Kidderminster deserved to walk away with the win but that’s football. Moyes lay into em before the next game for sure. #KIDWHU #WHUFC #COYI"
@chrispriestley:
"I’m immensely embarrassed by Yarmalenko. Trying to cheat a non league side. Pathetic. Definitely not the West Ham way. #KIDWHU"
@premier_cheese:
"Absolutely heartbreaking but what an effort from the @khfcofficial boys. I couldn't have asked for a bigger effort put in. They deserved so much more. #KIDWHU"

"Diop, Karl, Yarmalenko, Fredericks were all shocking and i suspect won't get many more minutes this season unless injuries hit us. They all need to go in the summer. Having said that they should still be too much for Kidderminster. Very embarrassing performance all round #KIDWHU"
Manchester United set unwanted record after getting knocked out by Middlesbrough via penalties
In other FA Cup news, Manchester United continued their wretched record in penalties in FA Cup as they succumbed to a shock exit in the competition to Middlesbrough, Sports Brief earlier reported.
Anthony Elanga ballooned his spot-kick over the bar as Chris Wilder’s side proceeded to the fifth round. Middlesbrough and their travelling 9000 fans will be thoroughly delighted with the win as it was only the second time in 11 meetings with Premier League opposition that they had progressed.
In truth, United will feel as though they should have won the match in regular time as they had a host of chances that were somehow spurned. Jadon Sancho gave them the lead in the 25th minute with his first FA Cup goal but Middlesbrough equalized in the second half in a rather controversial fashion.
