Roger De Sa is another South African contributing to the success of Egyptian football and Mzansi is revelling in his joy.
The Egyptian national team coach assistant was over the moon last night as his team advance to the 2021 African Cup of Nations final. The Pharaohs defeated the host nation Cameroon 3-1 after the semifinal encounter ended 0-0 following 120 minutes of tense and gripping football.
De Sa was appointed as an assistant by head coach Carlos Queiroz last September, reported News24. He's also had a near-miss with continental glory before, ironically losing to Egyptian side Al-Ahly - now coached by another South African in Pitso Mosimane - while still at the helm of Orlando Pirates in the 2013 CAF Champions League final, as per BBC Sport.

FootballDe Sa, currently serving a four match ban, tweeted a photo of himself with man-of-the-match Mohamed Abdelmonem, saying:
"What a player! Thumbs up. Called up 3 months ago to Egyptian national team. Great kid as well!"
South Africans took to Twitter to celebrate with him, while some were annoyed with his and Carlos Quieroz' bans for remonstrating with match officials.

"Well done coach I wish we can utilize your expertise here at home. Go for gold."

"Congratulations coach. The behaviour of your bench is questionable. I don't know if this is some kind of your tactics to win the game but it doesn't look good. Please behave with your colleagues."
Success at the 2021 African Cup of Nations has unfortunately come at a heavy price for Roger De Sa.

FootballAs reported by Sports Brief, De Sá was banned for four games by CAF for using an obscene gesture in altercation with Moroccan Football Federation president Faouzi Lekjaa in a tense quarterfinal match where the Egyptians defeated their north African foes 2-1.
The Pharaoh's problems were further compounded when head coach Carlos Queiroz was sent off in last night's semifinal win against Cameroon, as reported on Goal.com.
