How the Premier League Table Looks After Vital Wins for Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool
FootballPremier League Top-Four Prediction Made After Transfer Window Shuts
- Man United, Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham are all eyeing a place in the top four at the end of the season
- However, Joe Cole contends the Red Devils are in a pole position to finish in the top four ahead of Spurs and Arsenal
- Just two points separate United in fourth and Tottenham who sit seventh with 36 points from 20 matches
Premier League icon Joe Cole has predicted Manchester United will win the race to secure the final Champions League spot this term.
United are already facing stiff competition from rivals Arsenal, Tottenham, and West Ham in the top-four battle.
Man City are in a pole position to retain the Premier League title, while Chelsea and Liverpool look set to to seal the top three slots.
The top-four race is heating up
But with just two points separating the next four teams on the standings, attention has justifiably shifted to the top-four race.
The Red Devils currently sit fourth following a mini-resurgence under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
West Ham are placed fifth on the log with 37 points, just one ahead of sixth-placed Arsenal and Tottenham who sit seventh.
Of the four teams eyeing a top-four spot, only Spurs made signings during the January transfer window, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur joining on transfer deadline day.
Joe Cole's top-four prediction
However, despite the signings, Cole does not see Tottenham making the top-four, backing United to seal the final Champions League spot.
"Spurs brought in a couple of players who were struggling to get into what I consider a poor, for their standards, Juventus team," Cole told Coral.
"So while they are decent players, do they really improve the Tottenham squad? Maybe slightly, but it’s almost like nobody wanted to really pull the trigger in that little bracket of teams and go and gamble on a big signing to really make a difference.
