Tattoo has become one of the trends among footballers, from minor tattoos to large ones. Footballers worldwide get inked weekly and some of them go extreme with it.
Here is a list of Ghanaian players who have gone under the needle.
Kevin-Prince Boateng
Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is completely devoted to tattoos.
The ex-Milan and Barcelona midfielder has inked over 30 tattoos spread across his body. The attacking midfielder has a map of Africa on his left bicep which is a way of paying tribute to his African heritage. There is a spider web etched over his left knee, depicting his recurring knee injury.
The 34-years-old also has tattooed a lion on his right foot representing his brave and dominant attitude, diamonds on his neck, and the phrase "Love vs Pain" on his chest.
Andre Ayew
Ayew's tattoos are more personal and symbolic with inks and portraits of his mother’s name on his body. The Ghana captain has also shown massive love to his daughter, inking her name, Inaya, on his wrist.
Andre and his younger brother, Jordan, have identical tattoos on their left arms, but it is unknown what their tattoos mean. The Ayew brothers have inks of the Maori heritage style on their upper arm, and other tattoos stretch to their lower arm.
Suelly Muntari
Ghana champions Hearts of Oak added the experienced Sulley Muntari to their ranks, which means the Phobians welcome another tattoo aficionado.
Muntari loves his ink and has plethora of religious quotes and symbols in Arabic all over his body. He also has a tattoo on his arm, paying tribute to his beautiful wife Menaye Donkor.
