FootballChelsea Star Narrates Exactly Why Eden Hazard Has Struggled in the Spanish La Liga at Real Madrid
- Eden Hazard spent seven years at English Premier League club Chelsea where he won 2 Premier League titles
- The Belgian found the back of the net for the Blues 110 times having made a staggering 352 appearances for the club
- He then joined Real Madrid in 2019 but is yet to impress for the La Liga side, prompting Saul to state that Spanish football is different
Chelsea star Saul Nuguez has taken time to explain that the Spanish La Liga is different from the English Premier League and that is why Eden Hazard is struggling, Metro reports.
Hazard remains a cult hero at the London club having helped the Blues to two Premier League titles, two Europa League titles as well as the FA Cup in seven years.
The Belgian made 352 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit and scored 110 goals in all competitions to make him one of their most impressive signings.
Hazard then completed a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid for a deal said to be worth more than £100million.
He was expected to hit the ground running as soon as he arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, but he has seemingly flopped, having managed to get just six goals in over three seasons.
La Liga different from Premier League
And Saul has disclosed that the pacy star is struggling because it is a different ball game back in Spain:
He told Chelsea’s official website:
“They are totally different. Over there, it’s much more tactical, whereas here it’s more physical and a bit crazier.
“For example, I was talking to my friends the other day about Eden Hazard.
“When he was here, he was easily one of the best players in the world and then he goes to La Liga and has his own difficulties because it’s a totally different game.
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger stunned as fans mob him upon arrival in African country
Football“Here he had more one-vs-ones and two-vs-ones but in La Liga, because everyone knows how good his team is and how good he is, other teams make it much more difficult for him.”
Tuchel wants Militao at Chelsea
Sports Brief earlier reported Thomas Tuchel has reportedly told the Chelsea board to sign Real Madrid defender Eder Militao when the transfer window opens next summer.
Tuchel has been a keen admirer of the 24-year old defender who has established himself as an important member of the Galacticos team.
The former Borussia Dortmund and PSG coach has now instructed the Chelsea hierarchy to pursue the signature of the Brazil international who is believed to be one of the lowest earners at Madrid.
