George Lebese Turns 33, Former Kaizer Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns Star Looks to Future With New Clothing Line

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns player, George Lebese, is celebrating his 33rd birthday today.

While he may not be part of a football club at present, Lebese is still turning heads and making headlines. He is set to soon launch his clothing line called Assets, just one of the numerous ventures he’s a part of.

Lebese played over 140 games for Kaizer Chiefs before moving to Mamelodi Sundowns. Having been born in Mamelodi, the transfer was a sort of homecoming for Lebese but it wasn’t the fairytale transfer he expected.

After two years at the club and after only making 10 appearances, he was loaned out to SuperSport United where he also made 10 appearances. Lebese then found himself without a club until he secured a move to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks in America in 2020. Sadly, Covid19 restrictions meant that the player could not return to America in 2021 and he parted ways with the club by mutual consent.

Despite not having a club, Lebese is still living his best life. One look at his Instagram account will tell you that Lebese is not your average football. He’s a serious style icon who is known to rock name brand clothes.

In November 2021 The Sunday World announced that Lebese had become a DJ after his contract with the Switchbacks was terminated. As KickOff reported, Lebese and his wife own a club called Prestige which attracts some of the hottest DJs to its decks.

But fans are most excited to see the launch of Assets Clothing. The Instagram page already has over 7 000 followers despite not sharing any posts yet. At only 33 years old, there’s no guarantee that fans will see Lebese on the field again, but off the field, he’s sure to make an impact.
