  • After much toing and froing with the league charging the Amakhosi for not honouring the fixtures, fans are tired and want a speedy resolution

The drawn out saga of the Premier Soccer League disciplining Kaizer Chiefs has taken on soap operatic proportions, and football observers are tired of it.

Chiefs were charged by the league for failing to honour two fixtures against Golden Arrows and Cape Town City in December. The team cited a Covid-19 outbreak at the club for the reason to not pitch up, requesting that five of its matches be postponed.

According to Soccer Laduma, the request was denied, leading to a fixture logjam. PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu then charged Chiefs for missing the two matches on 12 January, as reported by KickOff.

As far as many soccer fans are concerned, the matter has gone on long enough.

Makhwedzha Daniel said:

"They must get a ruling quick. We are sick and tired of these unfinished ruling."

Humbulani Zimba said:

"This things of delaying judgment when still early in the game. Mark my words: it will end in tears after 28 games being played."

Nopopo Popla said:

"Chiefs is not going to win the league anyway so it might as well lose that six points. And it's not going to CAF either."
