Sadio Mane hit a personal milestone on Wednesday, February 2 with his goal against Burkina Faso in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
The Liverpool forward was instrumental for his country in the game, bagging a goal and assist as Senegal stormed to the final thanks to a 3-1 victory.
He scored the third goal, chipping in to settle the victory late in the game, after Abdou-Lakhad Diallo and Idrissa Gueye had put their nation in the lead.
With the goal, Mane took his tally in international goals for Senegal to 29, taking him level with Henri Camara at the top of their all-time scorers list.
Speaking after the victory, Mane said his side was deserving of the win on Wednesday.
"We knew it would not be easy, it was a semi-final of the Cup of Nations after all," said Mane. "And we were up against a good Burkina Faso team who gave us a lot of problems,” he said as quoted by Sky Sports.
"We were calm and we took our opportunities and I think we deserved this victory."
Senegal march on, how the game went
It was quite the eventful semi-final on Wednesday as Senegal were twice denied two penalties by the VAR.
Paris Saint-Germain's Abdou Diallo broke the deadlock at the 70th minute, making a smart run and finish.
Senegal would go on to double their lead six minutes later through Gueye after Mane won the ball back in a dangerous area and fed the midfielder for the goal.

FootballBlati Toure narrowed the deficit late on but it was Mane who had the last word in the game with his 29th goal for his country.
Senegal will now face either Egypt or hosts Cameroon in the final on Sunday, February 6.
Egypt coach critical of Eto'o
In other news, Sports Brief reported of how Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz slammed Samuel Eto’o for branding the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations clash between Egypt and Cameroon as “war”.
Hosts Cameroon will face off with the Pharaohs on Thursday night and the winner of that clash will take on Senegal who are through to the final of the tournament, following a 3-1 win over Burkina Faso.
Eto’o, who was recently voted as FECAFOOT president compared the last-four clash with Egypt to "war"., something Quieroz did not appreciate.
