Militao has emerged as an integral squad member at the heart of Real's defence, making 30 appearances for them this term across competitions.

Daily Mail reports the Blues could be forced to enter the market in the summer in search of a prolific defender with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Cesar Azpilicueta all in the final years of their contracts.

Tuchel is now said to have set his eyes on landing Militao to help reinforce his defence as he prepares to challenge for titles next season.

According to AS Sport, the German tactician has requested Blues chiefs to make a move for the Brazilian defender once the summer transfer window opens.

Reports suggest Chelsea intend to make a call to the La Liga giants at the end of the season to make inquiries about Militao.

Militao's spell at Real Madrid

Militao, who is one of Real's lowest earners has his current contract at Santiago Bernabeu running until 2025.

The Brazil international joined Los Blancos back in 2019 from Porto in a deal valued at £41million.

He had a difficult start to life at the Spanish capital but has since flourished especially under Carlo Ancellotti.

As such, Chelsea could find it difficult to convince Real to sell Militao who is also understood to be happy at the club.

Chelsea sign Charlton ace

Earlier, Sports Brief reported English League One side Charlton Athletic have confirmed the transfer of Mason Burstow to Chelsea.

Burstow courted interest from Premier League clubs after a fine run of form that saw him notch six goals in just 14 appearances for Charlton.

However, it was Chelsea who finally won the race to sign him, beating Brentford who had also expressed interest.
