According to a report via Mirror and SkySports, Police in Manchester have been granted more time to question the 20-year-old forward after allegations of assault were levelled against him.

This comes after Manchester United had revealed that Mason Greenwood will not be training with the club until further notice.

Allegations were made against Greenwood on Instagram on Sunday morning when a post that included video, photographs, and a voice note claimed to be a conversation between Greenwood and the accused woman were released online.

Meanwhile, Sportswear giants, Nike, have suspended their association with the Manchester United striker after allegations of assault were revealed.

In the wake of the allegations, Nike released a statement stating that they were 'deeply concerned' about the Greenwood situation, the Daily Mail reports.

'We have suspended our relationship with Mason Greenwood.

'We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.'
