- The Lions of Teranga recently qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament to set up a date against Burkina Faso
Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane has underscored his desire to help Senegal win the 2021 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Lions of Teranga are already in the last four of the competition and are scheduled to face off against Burkina Faso in the semifinals for a chance to reach the penultimate of the tournament.
Mane is without a doubt expected to play an integral role in that journey, with the star forward shaking off previous injury concerns to feature in Senegal's quarterfinal clash against Equatorial Guinea.
The tie ended in a 3-1 win for Aliou Cisse's men, with goals from Famara Diedhiou, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Ismaila Sarr sending them to the semis.
While speaking about the task that now lies ahead, Mane revealed his readiness to give everything for the Lions of Teranga to reach the final and lift the title.
“It’s my job [to be ready to play everywhere]. I have to do it because I think it's really important for me,” BBC Sport Africa quoted the Liverpool ace saying.
“It’s important for the boys to make sure we win the game, so to win you have to do everything and make all the sacrifices necessary," he added.
Senegal will play the winner between Egypt and hosts Cameroon should they see off Burkina Faso in their own semi-final tie.
