The Buccaneers defeated AmaZulu 2-0 on Sunday to remain in first place on the log. The irrepressible Boitumelo Radiopane opened the scoring in the 81st minute, before Themba Ndaba sealed the deal five minutes later.
Pirates are now on 33 points, while Amazulu stayed in 10th place on 19 points.
Not far behind Pirates in second place, Stellenbosch Football Club missed a golden opportunity to put pressure on the log leaders. They were defeated by the pesky Royal AM 2-1, remaining on 30 points, while AM leaped above Golden Arrows into 11th place with 17 points.
TS Galaxy couldn't build on their outstanding victory over Orlando Pirates, instead drawing 2-2 with Chippa United. Galaxy could have climbed up to third place, leapfrogging their opponents of the day, United on 26 points while Galaxy breathed down their necks on 25 points.
Moroka Swallows and Maritzburg United fired blanks in a 0-0 draw. Swallows remained in 14th place on 14 points, with United directly above them in 13th spot sitting uncomfortably on 16 points.
