Chelsea star and Germany international, Antonio Rüdiger, is now the ambassador of Sierra Leone abroad, after earning a diplomatic passport from the West African nation.

The Germany defender returned to the country of his parents birth for a short vacation, following the break in the English Premier League, to create some beautiful memories.

As he leaves for England for the return of the EPL, the UEFA Champions League winning played thanked Sierra Leoneans and pledged to be a great ambassador of the country.

"People of Sierra Leone, thank you so much for all these amazing memories in recent days," he wrote on Twitter.

"I am very, very proud to have received the diplomatic passport of Sierra Leone and to be the brand ambassador of the country from now on. Thank you to President Julius Maada Bio. What an honour," he added.

Antonio Rudiger has launched his foundation in Sierra Leone after returning to his roots for a short vacation from England.

The Chelsea center back's foundation has been formed to support the less privileged and the physically challenged.
