DStv Compact Cup: Dinaledi Edge Amabutho in the Third Place Playoff Match at Soccer City, Dividing Fans

• Dinaledi ended off their DStv Compact Cup campaign with a relatively easy 1-0 win over Amabutho at Soccer City
• Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lesedi Kapinga scored a sensational goal early in the match to set Dinaledi on their way
• Amabutho barely tested Kapinga's teammate at Sundowns Reyaad Pieterse in goal as they huffed and puffed for no reward

Dinaledi coasted to a relatively comfortable 1-0 victory over Amabutho in the 3rd/4th place playoff match of the DStv Compact Cup at Soccer City.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lesedi Kapinga's thunderous hit in the fourth minute was enough for Dinaledi to hang on to as Amabutho huffed and puffed without any reward.

The gimmicky competition is of a similar vein to the Carling Black Label Cup involving Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, in that fans get to vote for what they want. The twist, however, is that they get to select players they want to see from all 16 clubs in DSTV Premiership included into four select squads, like the NBA All-Star Game.

Fans then select 26 players from each group, who will then be included in a team that will represent its respective region in a semifinal-to-final format, with a third/fourth place playoff contested by the losers of the semifinal matches. The fans also have the chance to name each team, with the best names selected at the end of this month.
