The 36-year-old Kekana had a glorious 10 year stay at the club, hoovering silverware like it was going out of fashion at Chloorkop. He is currently without a club, with several teams reported to be sniffing around for his signature.
According to TimesLIVE, club chairmen Thlopie Motsepe revealed that Kekana could be honoured with a testimonial match. As explained on Goal.com, a testimonial match is a game that is played in order to honour a player who has given a significant term of service to a particular club, usually but not limited to a 10 year period.
Motsepe said:
“We have said when the opportunity comes, we want to honour Hlompo with our supporters. A testimonial is something we can explore, obviously Covid-19 permitting, but it is definitely something we are looking to do, and we are hoping it is possible with the government regulations."
“For now there are other things that can be done in a no stadium type of environment. We will always be looking for the opportunity. The YouTube testimonial we did was to make sure he is respected by the club.”
