Legendary Ghana forward, Asamoah Gyan, has paid a glowing tribute to former defender Christian Gyan, who was laid to rest in the Netherlands this weekend.
The ex-Ghana defender died on December 29, 2021 after battling cancer in the last four years.
Gyan, who played for Feyenoord in Holland had a befitting farewell by fans of the club and ex-captain of the Black Stars, who penned down some emotional words.
"You served the nation well. I watched and admired your composure in defense for Ghana. You are a hero. It’s unfortunate people forget and celebrate our heroes. Rest In Peace CHRISTIAN GYAN. Hmmmm," brokenhearted Asamoah Gyan wrote on Twitter.
Feyenoord fans pay final respect to Christian Gyan
Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, former Ghana and Feyenoord defender, Christian Attah Gyan, has been given a rousing farewell after he was laid to rest in the Netherlands following his passing last month.
The Ghanaian football legend passed on on December 29, after losing his battle with cancer in a hospital in the Netherlands.
In photos and videos posted on Twitter, the ex-Ghana player was given a beautiful tribute after about 1500 fans of Feyenoord came to bid their final goodbyes.
