- He came on in the 65th minute but could not inspire his side to a comeback against Aston Villa
- Emiliano Buendia’s second half header was enough for Aston Villa to claim all three points at Goodison Park
Everton midfielder with Kenyan roots Tyler Onyango was on Saturday, January 22 given a considerable number of minutes as the Toffees succumbed to defeat against Aston Villa.
In the first match since the departure of Rafa Benitez, caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson named Onyango in the bench at Goodison Park for the Villa clash.
The 18-year old made his way into the game in the 65th minute, replacing Abdoulaye Doucoure, with the Toffees trailing 1-0.
He however could not inspire his side to claw a draw, as the Toffees continued their wretched run in the Premier League.
Onyango has risen up the ranks at the Everton academy and recently broke into the first team.
Under Rafa Benitez, he was also afforded minutes on the pitch, with his most notable appearance being against Manchester City in Everton’s 3-0 defeat.
Internationally, Onyango is currently playing for England at junior levels but he is eligible to feature for Harambee Stars since his father is a Kenyan.

Everton , including Tyler Onyango resorted to aerial bombardment in the second half but nothing would go in for them as Dominic Calvert-Lewin turned Anthony Gordon's cross over , while Ben Godfrey saw his header scrambled off the line by Villa players.
