Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo did not take it lightly after he was substituted in his side’s 3-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday night, Mirror reports.
The 36-year-old was visibly upset with manager Ralf Rangnick after he was substituted for Harry Maguire in the 71st minute, moments before Marcus Rashford made it 3-0.
The Portuguese player was instrumental in the Red Devils’ second goal when he produced a sensational pass off his chest to set up Bruno Fernandes on his way before his compatriot laid the ball for Mason Greenwood to score.
It seems it was not enough to convince Rangnick to continue playing the striker who has just returned from injury having missed their last two games.
As soon as the board showed CR7’s number, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner seemed shocked and muttered to himself as he trudged off the pitch.
He continued to exhibit his displeasure as he walked to the bench moving past his boss before throwing his jacket down before sitting in the dugout.
But Ronaldo recently stated he believes the acclaimed German coach will be a success during his temporary spell. He told Sky Sports:
"He arrived here five weeks ago and changed many things but he needs time to put his ideas to the players and on the pitch as well.
"It takes time but I believe that he is going to do a good job, we know that we have not been playing the best football as we should do but we have many games to improve.
Former Chelsea defender William Gallas tells Romelu Lukaku what he must do to get Chelsea fans’ forgiveness
Football"But since he arrived I think in some points we are better but as I said before we need time, it's not easy to change the mentality of players and the way they play the system and the culture like that so I believe that he is going to do a good job."
Man Utd told to get rid of 5 players
Sports Brief earlier reported that former Chelsea and Celtic midfielder Craig Burley has advised Man United to get rid of five first-team players as they are not good enough.
The Red Devils have endured a poor run of form this season, with interim boss Ralf Rangnick also struggling to steady the ship at Old Trafford.
According to the former midfielder, the quintent of Victor Lindelof, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Alex Telles, and Diogo Dalot has to be moved on.
