Premier League legend Alan Shearer has slammed Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for his excuses after the Blues were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Brighton in an English Premier League game at the Amex stadium on Tuesday night Daily Mail reports.
Hakim Ziyech had given Chelsea a halftime lead after his superb 20-yard volley had put the Blues in front but a spirited Brighton side ensured they had a share of the spoils when Adam Webster headed in an equalizer for the Seagulls.
Chelsea would end up dropping two vital points as the game would end without the Blues getting a winner and the Blues have now been held to a draw eight times already this season.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel after the game blamed tiredness as the reason his players have been off colour in recent weeks.
According to The Metro, Injuries and a Covid outbreak limited Tuchel’s options during the festive period but Alan Shearer believes the German still had enough at his disposal to be able to comfortably navigate a hectic schedule.
‘I don’t accept it. I’m not having that. I get that it has been a tough time for every football club in the world.
‘They’ve all had very difficult circumstances. But he’s got a bench that’s worth £220million.
‘That performance going forward was not a tired performance. That performance was a team that’s struggling for confidence and I’m not sure that they are all on the same page.
Chelsea have now gone four games without a Premier League victory and trail leaders Manchester City by 12 points despite having played a game more than their title rivals.
