Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has slammed Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi claiming that the former Liverpool player should have done better against Sudan at AFCON.
Eguavoen and his wards were impressive against Sudan on Saturday evening, January 15, in their second game at the African Cup of Nations in which Nigeria won the battle 3-1.
Samuel Chukwueze scored the first goal for Nigeria in the 3rd minute sending Super Eagles fans into wide jubilation before Taiwo Awoniyi and Moses Simon added later on.
But despite scoring his first goal for the Super Eagles via a lucky header, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha felt that the Union Berlin striker should have done well in the encounter according to the report on Complete Sports.

“Awoniyi would have done better. He would have scored more goals after that lucky goal but he was in too much of a haste.
“When he looks back at the match, he would regret it. At least after scoring the goal, he would have gained more confidence.”
