  • Alex Iwobi who came on as a late substitute against the Pharaohs has disclosed that Nigeria will play well against Sudan

Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has stated that the Super Eagles are psyched up ahead of their second group game at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The Eagles put up a scintillating performance in their opening match at the competition beating Egypt 1-0 and they are now set to clash with Sudan on Saturday.

The Everton of England star said via Complete Sports:

“We are going to give the same motivation and desire in the first game and hopefully we can get the result we need.
“We are really psyched up especially that first performance but we are not going to rest on our hoarse, we are going to keep on going.
“The only assurance I will give is that we are going to give 100 per cent and fight for our country and the result hopefully we will get what we want but we are going to fight for our country.”

Sudan coach speaks

Meanwhile, coach of the Sudanese national team, Burhan Tia, has admitted that their Africa Cup of Nations clash with Nigeria will be a pretty difficult game.

The tactician saw his side play a 0-0 draw with Guinea-Bissau in their Group D opener and their next game will be against the Super Eagles on Saturday.

Coach Burhan Tia has disclosed that it would be tough playing the Super Eagles, but his side are already prepared for the battle.

Morocco cruise to AFCON 2021 last 16

Sports Brief earlier reported that Morocco are through to the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations thanks to what was a routine 2-0 win over Comoros.

Goals from Selim Amallah and Zakaria Aboukhlal were enough to see off underdogs Comoros, who were second best for most of the game.

The Atlas Lions should have won the game by a far larger margin if they had taken all their chances as they proved too strong for the tournament debutants at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.
