Former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov has advised struggling England striker Marcus Rashford to consult senior players Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani for support on how best to improve his game.
Rashford has seen his form nosedive for the Red Devils since returning from a shoulder surgery this season and has been a peripheral squad member under new manager Ralf Ragnick.
According to the Daily Mail, Fans turned on him in Monday night's FA Cup third-round win over Aston Villa and former United forward Berbatov has suggested he speaks to star men Ronaldo and Cavani to try to turn things around.
'I didn't speak to any of my team-mates when I was on a bad run, I was shy and quite private. That was my mistake,' Berbatov told The Sun.
'If there's someone in the team who is experienced and is an icon in world football, like Ronaldo, then go and ask him for advice, I'm sure he will give people time and wise words.
'Edinson Cavani brings goals wherever he goes, he should speak to him too. Don't be like me, talk to team-mates, because that cycle of bad form can go on and on.'
The Express reports this is the 24-year-old’s longest run without a goal since 2016 as he has scored just three times since returning from back surgery in October although he has been plagued by a niggling thigh injury since his return.
Rashford featured for just 72minutes in England’s Euro 2020 campaign and was one of the three players to miss their penalties in the final against Italy.
