Fans of the senior national team, the Black Stars, have been left fuming after a lackadaisical performance against Morocco in the opening group C game at AFCON 2021.

Sofiane Boufal's 83rd minute strike sunk the Black Stars of Ghana at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Cameroon.

Supporters of the Black Stars vented their frustrations of Social Media, with some describing the performance as depressing.

"Coach Milo is a good coach just that the Era of Defensive Football is gone. Coaches have found antidotes to defensive tactics. Present form of Mourinho & Benitez are examples," wrote Isaac Opeele Boateng, a former Kotoko coach.
"The Moroccans are taller than us but we are playing long balls hmm . Coach Milo should tell them to put the balls down," added Steeze.
Sports Journalist Saddick Adams wrote: "I'm still hopeful about the Black Stars. My only worry now, is how Milo could think we were doing well for 85 munites and didn't need to make a change. We kept our biggest threat on the bench forever because he's YOUNG."
"Someone Said Coach Milo is Playing depressing football not Gengenpressing," wrote Jeff Tymer.
"Personally I think Milo is not using Jordan Ayew well that is why he hasn't been impactful in our recent games. The wings isn't his position. If you look at it tactically the perfect place to position him is in the stands. I think he can see the game clearly from there," added Da Don.

Ghana suffer defeat to Morocco in Group C opener

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Former Southampton striker Sofiane Boufal was the hero for the Atlas Lions as Morocco edged out a resilient Ghana side in the opening game of Group C at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

Both teams were among the pre-tournament favourites to lift the title on February 6, but their final ball from crossing situations was poor and as a result, neither could create many chances in a cagey opening 45 minutes.

Boufal broke the West Africans resolve when he hammered home from close range in the 83rd minute after a cheeky run into the Ghanaian penalty area from Zakaria Aboukhlal that saw him tease the Ghana defence, only to be checked by Thomas Partey, with the ball then running perfectly for Boufal to score.
