Jonah Ayunga was part of Morecambe's squad that faced Tottenham Hotspur in their FA Cup third-round clash on Sunday, January 9.

Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson named a strong side for the dream north London trip but were unlucky not to seal a place in the next round of the tournament after their 3-1 defeat.

Ayunga was paired with English forward Cole Stockton but both were unable to help their side from crashing out of the competition.

The 24-year-old was afforded 58 minutes of action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before he was subbed off.

Anthony O'Connor got Morecambe off a dream start after handing his side the lead in the 33rd minute.

While the visitors were able to hold on to the lead for the better part of the match, they were unable to see out the final 15 minutes of action as Spurs sprung a comeback to down The Shrimps.

Harry Winks drew level Antonio Conte's men in the 74th minute before Lucas Moura, who came on as a substitute made it 2-1 in the 85th minute.

Harry Kane, who was subbed on capped Spurs' thrilling comeback with his own as the north Londoners won 3-1 to storm to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Arsenal eliminated from FA Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Premier League giants, Arsenal, have suffered an early exit from the FA Cup following their 1-0 disappointing loss against Nottingham Forest.

Lewis Grabban was Nottingham's match hero as his solitary goal in the second half of the match fired the Championship side to the next round of the competition.

The Sunday, January 9, third-round tie staged at City Ground saw Mikel Arteta heavily rotate his squad, with Charlie Patino, Eddie Nketiah, and Sambi Lokonga all starting.
