Italian side Genoa announce signing of Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah

Ghanaian-born Italian attacker, Kelvin Yeboah has completed his move to Italian topflight side Genoa FC in the winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old sealed a permanent move after his explosive display in the Austrian topflight league with Sturm Graz.

The club announced the arrival of the strike on their official website with Genoa's General Manager for sports happy with the capture of the Ghanaian striker.

"We are very happy to have brought back to Italy a player of great attraction on the market, young but already with many experiences and excellent statistics in these seasons," he said.

Kelvin Yeboah scored 11 goals in 18 matches and provided five assists for Sturm Graz in the first half of the campaign.

He is expected to produce the same form for Genoa, who are struggling in the serie A.

The young forward might be making his debut for the club in the serie A game against Spezia on Sunday.

Tony Yeboah to convince nephew to play for Ghana

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, former Ghana international, Tony Yeboah has pledged to persuade his nephew, Kelvin Yeboah to rescind his decision of playing for Italy and represent the Black Stars at senior level.

Kelvin Yeboah snubbed a Black Stars invite in June last year to play for the Italy U21 national team, leaving many shocked especially with his uncle being a Ghana legend.

But Tony Yeboah, who was speaking to Onua TV, says he will have a talk with his nephew, to convince into switching allegiance and playing for the African country.
