Ed Woodward has finally stepped down as Manchester United chief executive after 17 years at the club and the English accountant will be replaced with Richard Arnold who will start work on February 1.
Woodward supported the coming on board of the Super League last year as they were wars between some heads of European clubs and UEFA chiefs.
The Englishman was not the only top football chief who supported the Super League as some were also interested because of the huge money involved in the competition.
But after thorough battle, clubs that showed interest in the Super League withdrew with some even tendering apology to their fans.
