United were stunned 1-0 by Wolves on Monday, January 3, to have their hopes of sealing a Champions League spot dented.

Joao Moutinho fired home the winner with eight minutes left on the clock to deny the Red Devils a chance to close the gap on Tottenham, West Ham, and fourth-placed Arsenal.

The defeat left Ralf Rangnick's men sitting seventh on the log with 31 points, four off a top-four slot.

However, bettingexpert.com, United are in line to bounce back to winning ways and eventually seal the final European Cup place.

Their rivals, Man City, have been tipped to retain the topflight title after a sensational run of form that has seen them stretch their lead at the top to 10 points.

Liverpool are predicted to finish in second ahead of Chelsea, with United completing the top four slots.

Tottenham, who sit two points behind a top-four spot have been tipped to finish in fifth, with Arsenal having to settle for the last Europa League spot.

In the relegation battle, Newscastle, who sit two points off safety have been backed to escape the drop by a whisker.

However, it is bad news for Burnley, whose six-year stay in the topflight has been predicted to come to an end.

Norwich and Watford look poised to join Burnley in Championship as well.

Chelsea stun Spurs

Earlier, Sports Brief reported a Carabao Cup clash between Chelsea and Tottenham ended in a 2-0 win for the Stamford Bridge side as they moved closer to the final.

Romelu Lukaku returned to the squad after being dropped for his controversial interview while Jorginho and Saul manned the midfield.

A 5th-minute strike by Kai Havertz following a deflected effort from close range as well as Ben Davies’ own goal sealed the win for the hosts.
