Christian Eriksen has stated emphatically that he wants to play for his nation Denmark in the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is expected to take place in Qatar.
It has been seven months now that the former Premier League star last played football after suffering cardiac arrest during a EURO 2020 match against Finland.
There was serious tension among the football fans who were at the stands that day and even those who watched on television as they were concerned about the life of the player.
Medical officials stormed the pitch immediately the incident happened and Eriksen got life-saving treatment before he was rushed to the hospital.
According to the report on Sportsbible and Sky Sports, Christian Eriksen is now training on his own after leaving Italian side Inter Milan last December and he is eyeing a return to active game.
Christian Eriksen's statement about returning to pitch
“My goal is to play in the World Cup in Qatar. I want to play. That's been my mindset all along. It's a goal, a dream. Whether I'll be picked is another thing. But it's my dream to come back.
“I'm sure I can come back because I don't feel any different.
“Physically, I'm back in top shape. That's been my goal and it's still some time away, so until then I'm just going to play football and prove that I'm back at the same level.”
