"This is Michael Khosa, my home boy. He was a good footballer (winger). Very quick, we used to call him Mkhelele, but selfish. He would score goals but not keen on passing."
Philly's Games make local history by using Video Assistant Referee
While the linesman was stealing the show before the game, the referee of the Philly's Games Final was making history during the clash.
He made history on behalf of the tournament for the use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), a feat that the Premier Soccer League hasn't managed yet. The Philly's Games were started in Tembisa in 1992 as a way to end the fighting between two political factions in the community, SuperSport reported.
The introduction of VAR at the latest edition of the Phillys Games got social media buzzing as many fans have found it humorous that the Tembisa-based tournament beat the PSL.
