“Disgusting": Man United Fans Decry Another Poor Showing After Wolves Defeat

• United were dominated in the first half, and fans took to social media to express discontent at the performance
• Majority of the fans were adamant the manager needed to tweak the squad to see positive changes in the way the team was playing

Manchester United fans took to social media to decry another poor performance as their side fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford at the hands of Wolves.

In interim boss Ralf Rangnick’s first defeat as Man United coach, the Red Devils were extremely tame on the day as Wolves’s constant threat in front of goal eventually paid off.

Joao Moutinho struck the only goal of the game eight minutes from time as Wolves snatched a deserved victory despite a late surge by United.

Wolves controlled the opening half-hour as Bruno Lage’s men exhibited some high-energy football which at times proved hard to cope with for the hosts.

Rangnick made several changes for the game, benching Bruno Fernandes while starting Phil Jones for the first time in two years in the place of Harry Maguire.

Interestingly enough, it was Jones who was the better performer in the squad on Monday night as he broke off a number of Wolves attacks.

United’s best chances came from Bruno Fernandes in the second half as the Portuguese attacker saw his free kick late on kept out by Jose Sa, and he also fired against the bar when he should have done a lot better.

It did not take long for United fans to flood social media with nearly the same sentiments after the game.

“I will stop watching United’s games until summer. It’s depressing,” one fan declared.

For other fans, they took to call out Ralf Rangnick for refusing to tweak his midfield when it was clear it was not clicking against Wolves.

Some were simply keen on seeing the boss try something new in terms of his squad.

“Change that midfield and get donny in for goodness sake, how many times do we accept defeat and not change anything it’s insanity.

“Stop playing 4222, and understand that Klopp failed badly doing it in 2015. Take out a striker and put another midfielder in, to get more control of the game,”

Asked what went wrong on Monday, Rangnick said after the game.

“We played a poor first half. We didn’t have any control when Wolves had possession of the ball,”
