While most quarterbacks in the national football league have been unable to play in their 40s, some of them have defied the odds and extended their careers, playing even in their later years. One of them is Tom Brady, the oldest quarterback in the NFL at the moment.

But even though Tom Brady ranks as the oldest quarterback in the NFL as of 2022, apparently, he is not the oldest quarterback in the history of the sport. And while every position on a football team is essential, the quarterback is arguably the most vital member of any team.

Brett Favre is renowned for being one of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks currently. However, he was temporarily banned from the sport in 1996 following abuse of alcohol and strong painkillers. He is one of those famous personalities with so many controversies to his name.
But even though the famous NFL player had so many controversies, on the field, Brett Favre was a phenomenal quarterback and still holds several NFL records. Additionally, in 2016, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
