Australia's World Cup 2022 jersey

The Australians have a yellow shirt with green at the end of the sleeves. They have a Nike logo on the right-hand side and their team logo on the left. The home shirt is also interesting as it has a different shade of yellow, with some parts darker than others with no particular pattern. They pair this with green shorts and white socks, which makes their jersey similar to Brazil's.

Their away jersey has a dark blue shirt with light blue highlights on the sleeves and around the neck. It also has a light blue Nike logo on the right and its national team logo on the left. They pair this shirt with dark blue shorts and socks, making it all uniform. Australia's World Cup Jersey is one of the most attractive at the tournament.

What is the name of the Australian national soccer team?

Their national team is called the Socceroos. It was coined by a Sydney journalist Tony Horstead and later adopted by the head coach at that time in 1967 while on a tour to Vietnam. The CEO, later John O'Neill, wanted the name to disappear with time, but it remains deep in the heart of the fans. In a statement protesting the name, the Sydney Morning Herald said,

"Now that the Australian Soccer team is basking in honour and glory after its World Cup victory over South Korea it can surely do without the name 'Socceroos' which is increasingly being applied to it. Of course, the names' Wallabies' and 'Kangaroos' have already been taken by national teams of other codes, but if the soccer team is to have a collective nickname what's wrong with being known as the 'Emus'. After all, that strong speedy—although not too bright—bird is so authentically Australian that it has a proud place on the Coat of Arms."

Has an Oceania team qualified for the World Cup?

Oceania teams are usually given half a spot in the competition as the winner has to battle it out in an intercontinental playoff with North American teams such as Costa Rica. Since Costa Rica qualified, no Oceania team will be at the World Cup.

Why is the World Cup in November?

The FIFA World Cup is held in November and December due to the concerns raised about the heat. The normal World Cup months, June and July, were during the summer season, with temperatures in Qatar peaking at 40 degrees celsius. On a normal month, Qatar averages 29 degrees celsius, which is also very high. Concerns about this change disrupting the usual league calendars may result in player fatigue and injuries.

Why is Italy not in the World Cup?

Unfortunately, Italy did not make it to the World Cup despite their star-studded side with players such as Jorginho, Chiellini, Chiesa and Bonucci. This happened after North Macedonia kicked them out in the playoffs that were held in Palermo. This marks Italy's second consecutive miss from the competition.
