She's currently a BMW 5 Series as well as Mercedes AMG driver with a passion for German machinery. The fact that Laura Woods is the first woman to hold the position is something she is proud of, but in all honesty, it is just another first in her illustrious career. But she claims that getting to cover sports is never like work.

"There's freedom in sport, I notice now all the things it gave me when I was younger. It was confidence, it was freedom, it was joy, it was safety. It's given me my career, too."

Social media presence

The two-time SJA Sports Presenter of the Year has a sizable online following on social media. She did, however, acknowledge that when she started her new job as talkSPORT's breakfast host, she fought sexist online bullies. In addition, she battles against persistent sexism on Twitter.

"One thing you will never get away from being a woman is a different kind of criticism that is attached to your gender. It shouldn't be there, but it is.
If I put a picture up on Twitter because I think it illustrates a point or it's something I'm doing, people say I'm begging for attention. Even when I got this job, people said I had got it because of the way I looked. That makes me laugh. This is radio. How I look is irrelevant."

According to Laura Woods, her decision to break up with her husband was the right one, and she has never regretted it. She continued by saying that, following her breakup, she is now concentrating on her sports presenting career.
