  • He retired months later after he was diagnosed with heart condition cardiac arrhythmias
  • Aguero was a guest at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in his former club's colours

Despite leaving the club in 2021 and sealing a late dream move to Spanish club FC Barcelona after losing the 2021 UEFA Champions League, Sergio Aguero still carries Manchester City in his heart.

Aguero spent 10 years at City, having joined from Atletico Madrid in 2021, and was one of the players who kick-started the modern successful era for the club under Sheikh Mansoor's ownership.

He helped the club to win all possible trophies except the Champions League, leaving as the club’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals in all competitions.

He joined Barcelona to play with long-term friend and compatriot Lionel Messi, who unfortunately left the club as the board could not register his new contract due to financial constraints.

Aguero wears Man City colours to F1 event

Since retiring from football in December 2021 because of the heart condition cardiac arrhythmias, he has been a globetrotter and has been seen at different sporting events.

As spotted by TNT Sports, he was a guest at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and his outfit caught attention. He wore a racing suit in the colours of Manchester City's 2023/24 home kit.

He shared the photos on his Instagram page, tagging F1 and Premier League and added the caption:

“Switching football for Formula 1, those overall are looking pretty swish @mancity.”

He was at the event as a promotional ambassador for Stake at the event held at the city of Manchester City owners, Abu Dhabi crown prince Sheikh Mansoor.
