Formula 1 drivers have been out and about in the USA ahead of the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix. Two drivers, Esteban Ocon and Charles Leclerc, attended the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Portland Trail Blazers and got to meet LeBron James.

The Alpine and Ferrari drivers were given all access during the game by the NBA and got to hang out and chat with James, who was present despite being injured.

The Lakers got a 116-110 at the Crypto.com Arena, and the two drivers were courtside to watch the action. After the game, they got to meet the 38-year-old.

They handed him a signed helmet as a gift. Moments later, Ocon described how nervous he was after meeting James, but the Lakers star joked in the background, "Vroom, vroom, vroom!" as he walked away, per Marca.

F1 is returning to Las Vegas for the third time. The only two previous F1 races in Las Vegas were in 1981 and 1982. F1 has held two races in the USA this year, both won by champion world champion Max Verstappen, per NBC Los Angeles.

NBA stars like James could be present in Las Vegas.

Verstappen on Las Vegas GP

Sports Brief also reported on Verstappen voicing his concerns about Formula 1 festivities ahead of the Las Vegas GP.

With the race scheduled to take place over the weekend, F1 decided to present drivers in extravagant style, something the Dutch driver is not happy with.

"For me, you can all skip these things. It's just standing up there, you look like a clown," Verstappen said.

Despite Red Bull and Verstappen already having secured a third successive crown this year, there's still much at stake for the rest of the field.

Fellow RB driver, Sergio Perez is facing an ultimatum to save his 2024 seat, while Lewis Hamilton will look at his first win since Jeddah 2021.
