- Max Verstappen has dominated the 2023 Formula 1 season

- The Red Bull Racing driver clinched victory with a superb drive in Qatar
Max Verstappen secured the 2023 Formula 1 world championship title with a spectacular performance during a challenging Sprint in Qatar on Saturday.
Verstappen finished 2nd place, with McLaren rookie Oscar Piastri taking a sensational sprint win. Verstappen’s exceptional qualifying performance on Friday ensured he would start the Qatar Grand Prix from pole position on Sunday.
This achievement solidifies Verstappen’s position among the Formula 1 greats as he joins the elite club of drivers who have clinched three consecutive championships alongside legends like Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen’s dominance in the 2023 season has been remarkable, with 13 victories out of the 16 races held so far. Sky Sports F1 reported that he needed only to finish three points ahead of his teammate, Sergio Perez, to secure his third driver’s championship.
The Sprint race, marred by two safety car interventions, allowed Verstappen to navigate to a relatively hassle-free 2nd-place finish, as his title rival and teammate Sergio Perez sadly became involved in a racing incident during the 13th lap of the 19-lap Sprint.
Though McLaren’s rookie Oscar Piastri clinched Sprint victory on the night, the celebration and parties will continue from the paddock for Red Bull and down to the Milton Keynes factory for the Austrian Constructors.

McLaren’s CEO discusses Verstappen’s dominance
In a previous article, Sports Brief reported on Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, discussing Red Bull’s dominance of the sport by Max Verstappen.
The 55-year-old did not hold back his displeasure with the effectiveness of the Milton Keynes team but believes the other teams can still catch up.
Brown has seen his McLaren team rise through the ranks to become one of the teams to beat this season and wants to match the pace of the RB19.
