Max Verstappen continues to rake in the records and wins in the 2023 Formula 1 season.

The Dutch driver who has won every but two races of the 15 held so far this season, is on course for a third consecutive drivers’ championship.

Verstappen’s unprecedented dominance, which has come alongside numerous record-breaking drives, including his recently achieved ten consecutive race victories, appears not to have everyone pleased, including Mercedes Driver Lewis Hamilton, who, according to reports from Sky Sports, recently cast doubt over the achievements of the Dutch driver.

It appears Hamilton is not the only one sceptical about Verstappen’s record as former Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg had made a bold admission about the dominance of the Red Bull driver.

Nico Rosberg speaks on Verstappen’s dominance

The 2016 Formula 1 champion, who was part of the recently recorded Sky Sports F1 podcasts, aired his views about the Dutch driver’s dominance, stating a surprising claim that the driver would not have it this easy if he were teammates with him.

“I put Max on the same level as Lewis [Hamilton]. So that’s how I would do,” Rosberg bluntly said.

Rosberg, admitting he would beat the Dutch driver in the same machinery, continued:

“Yeah, so that’s how I would do. That would be my best guess,”

Verstappen’s early Formula 1 career coincided with Rosberg’s, who was at the end of his impressive career.

Rosberg surprised many on the F1 grid when he announced his retirement from the sport following his win of the 2016 drivers’ championship crown.

The German driver has, however, been a prominent feature at F1 races after picking up a role with the punditry team at Sky Sports.

McLaren’s CEO discusses Verstappen’s dominance

In a previous article, Sports Brief reported on Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, discussing Red Bull’s dominance of the sport by Max Verstappen.

The 55-year-old did not hold back his displeasure with the effectiveness of the Milton Keynes team but believes the other teams can still catch up.

Brown has seen his McLaren team rise through the ranks to become one of the teams to beat this season and wants to match the pace of the RB19.
