South Africa Claim Series Victory Against India, Social Media in Awe of Whitewash 50-Over Victory

The Proteas put on another impressive display against India in the third and final one day international (ODI) to claim the match and series victory.

Quinton de Kock was once again in devastating form as he scored 124 to lead the Proteas to 287 all out, Sport24 confirmed. De Kock would go on to claim the man of the match and man of the series trophies.

India then came extremely close to chasing down the total, losing in the end by just four runs CricInfo reported. The match went down to the final over and could have gone either way.

Following the victory, South African fans celebrated the whitewash series win on social media while Indian fans promised they would get revenge when South Africa toured the subcontinent.

South Africa secure series win in one-day internationals, beat India by 7 wickets at Boland Park

In other cricket news, South Africa stormed to a crushing series victory against India in the one-day international games, winning the second game by seven wickets, Sports Brief earlier reported.

The Proteas chased down India's 288 with 11 balls to spare to win the match and claim the series with one match to go. Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan got the Proteas off to a perfect start as the pair put on a 132 run partnership for the opening wicket, CricInfo reported.

Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 78 while Malan was later dismissed for 91, Sport24 confirmed. Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram all chipped in as well to see South Africa over the line.
