The first judge scored it 115-112 for Usyk, the second 114-113 for Fury, and the third 114-113 for the Ukrainian.
While Usyk thanked Fury after the fight and praised his opponent, the Gypsy King was less gracious in defeat.
Speaking in the ring after the fight, the British heavyweight was adamant that he won.
He even suggested that the judges only scored in Usyk’s favour because of the situation in Ukraine.
“We’ve both put on a good fight. Best we could do. And, you know, his country is at war. So, people are siding with a country at war. But make no mistake, I’ve won that fight in my opinion, and I’ll be back. We’ve got a rematch clause,” Fury defiantly said.
The two fighters have an automatic rematch clause, and the second bout could take place as soon as October this year.
