British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has sent a powerful statement to his rivals as he knocked out former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in their bout in Saudi Arabia.
Ngannou had a fantastic outing in his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury but could not replicate such a performance against Joshua in his second fight.
The former MMA star was tipped by many to give Joshua a tricky tie due to his performance against Fury, but that was not the case in Riyadh.
According to a report by BBC, Joshua floored the Cameroonian boxer in the first round but could continue fighting after getting back on his feet on the count of eight and saw out the round.

Another right hand from Joshua had Ngannou back on the floor, and he was able to beat the count again in the nick of time, but he wasn't himself anymore.
In a viral video shared on social media, Ngannou couldn't withstand the finishing punch in round two as a formidable right hand from Joshua knocked the former UFC superstar out and required medical treatment after the referee halted the contest.
The 37-year-old boxer got a taste of what he did to Fury in his first bout and would be heading back to MMA with a knockout moment from Joshua.
Joshua speaks on Fury, Deontay Wilder
Sports Brief earlier reported on Joshua opening up on why he is yet to face Fury and Deontay Wilder, two of the top heavyweight boxers.
The 34-year-old British-Nigerian boxer has now come out to defend his boxing record, disclosing that he has in the past signed contracts that would see him fight both Wilder and Fury.
However, none of the planned fights has materialised, with Joshua citing reasons beyond his control.
