Nigerian entertainer and comedian Charles Okocha broke his silence after losing in a celebrity boxing fight against singer Habeeb Okikiola, popular as Portable.
The bout was sanctioned by Heritage Boxing Entertainment and was staged at the Landmark Beach in Victoria Island, Lagos State, in the wee hours of Wednesday, December 27.
The fight lasted close to 40 minutes and ended in the fourth round, with Portable deservedly winning the belt after being declared the winner.
The fight started when Portable accused Okocha in an online feud over an alleged N40m rip-off, according to a report by the Punch.
Charles Okocha took to his official Instagram page to react to the bout's outcome, stating why he doesn't accept defeat.
"How can you give up on the 3rd round when we have four rounds? How do you take off your gloves in the 3rd round? That's total disqualification when the fight hasn't ended," he said.
The Nigerian actor also claimed the fight was rigged and the referee was not a professional, but he is anticipating the rematch.
"Y'all know this fight was rigged plus an incompetent REFEREE that knows nothing about boxing rules… nevertheless, we move ✊rematch soon," he added.
Okocha's claims on Instagram stirred different reactions from fans. One said:
"I’m totally disappointed with the organizers and Especially the JUDGES including the REFEREE, y’all did us dirty👌Charles Okocha won that fight✊The real Champ"
Another said:
"The referee was not phenomenal at all but we move we will knock them out on rematch"
