Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that Anthony Joshua will defeat Deontay Wilder when both fighters take on each other in Saudi Arabia.
AJ and the Bronze Bomber have been touted for a blockbuster bout for some time now, and the proposed heavyweight fight could happen before the year 2023 runs out.
After back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua returned to winning ways, defeating Jermain Franklin by unanimous decision.
He then went ahead to beat Jermaine Franklin in an explosive fight, knocking out the American in round seven.
And AJ’s promoter and Matchroom Boxing chairman, Hearn, has now stated that the former two-time heavyweight champion will triumph over Wilder in an impending bout.
Hearn told Boxing Social via Marca:
“I think if he can be a little bit more aggressive with the style that he’s adopted, with the way he’s improved his feet, his movement, his defence, his distance – I think he’s gonna be, it’s difficult to say unbeatable, but I think he beats everyone. I’m so confident he beats Deontay Wilder.”
Wilder’s trainer warns Joshua
Meanwhile, ahead of their proposed blockbuster heavyweight bout, Deontay Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott has fired a strong warning to Anthony Joshua.
Scott has boasted that Wilder is currently in a staggering shape and would not go that long before crushing the British-Nigerian.
The trainer stated that Wilder is in the form of his life and will be too dangerous for Joshua to take on.
